What Chiropractic Care Schedule Should You Be On?

Chiropractic care schedule, frequency.

There are three basic care schedules and ways people tend to use Chiropractic Care. For active treatment of urgent issues. As maintenance or wellness care. And as sporadic “as needed” care during times that there is no urgent issue, but you don’t feel optimally healthy.

Active Care for Acute Injuries

Chiropractic care is common as Active Care for acute injuries that involve back pain or neck pain. It’s also highly effective to treat recurrent headaches. These appointments tend to be made “asap” and may be repeated multiple times in quick succession to resolve the issue.

But Chiropractic care can do more that be a solution to active problems. It’s also healthy way to maintenance body systems and keep you in optimal condition.

A Maintenance Chiropractic Care Schedule

A Chiropractic visit is often called an “adjustment”.  Through the course of daily life, your body goes farther and farther from healthy alignment.  Sitting in office chairs, spending time looking at your smartphone, watching TV, wearing high heels, carrying a backpack, or so many other normal daily activities almost guarantee your spinal alignment being off.

Maintenance care visits are usually somewhere from 2 weeks to 3 months apart, although most patients would benefit most from monthly chiropractic check-ups to stay in optimal health and wellness. Insurance providers don’t usually cover maintenance/wellness/preventative chiropractic care  – similar to your car insurance not covering oil changes and tune-ups, even though your car still needs them.

What About Sporadic Treatment?

Many people like to schedule an appointment with their mobile Chiropractor whenever they feel like something is off. They could be sleeping better, are just sluggish, or are starting to get achy after their work day. There’s nothing wrong with this schedule, although it won’t benefit you like having Chiropractic adjustments at regular intervals, preventing the small issues that eventually prompt an appointment.

It’s not uncommon for a patient to start receiving active care first. You can always move from there to maintenance care once your urgent issue passes.
